Justin Hayes is a traditional owner for the land surrounding the Ltyentye Apurte community (Santa Teresa) His homeland is at Antewele and the source of Justin’s painting emanates from this country. As a young man he grew up with the ancestor stories that tell of the forming of place and people, and these have formed the basis for his highly detailed and colourful acrylic paintings. Justin and his family have always been involved in the arts, whether through music, sculpture or painting.
