Mary Mulladad, to be called Mia, paints in both European and Eastern Arrernte traditions. Mia lives at Ltyentye Apurte (Santa Teresa) and has worked at Keringke in the past, and has been a painter for a long while. Mia worked extensively on the Santa Teresa Church murals and her skills in the arts are well known amongst the community and her enjoyment and pride in her community and her culture is evident. Mia works primarily as a traditional healer, available to the Ltyentye Apurte Community (Santa Teresa) when they need to consult her. Her knowledge of plant and Ngangkere healing is extensive. Mia has depicts story paintings that encourage the act of cultural transmission, particularly the bond of grandmother to grandchild, and mother to daughter. Full Bio » »
