Bridget Wallace’s family was relocated by the mission from Arltunga to Santa Teresa (Ltyentye Apurte) in 1953, where Bridget was born and grew up. She attended school at Ltyentye Apurte and was taught by the nuns. After school Bridget worked at the Women's Centre before being employed by the Art Centre in 1989. Bridget is one of Keringke’s senior artists and mentors and teaches other less experienced artists the basic steps towards sound painting construction. Bridget plays a vital role in the preservation of the early Keringke style, developed since the mid 1990’s, which portrays the strong, complex patterning and wide rainbow palette employed to create stunning canvas surfaces that can be enjoyed as radiant depiction of cultural connection to country.
